Who We Are
Chef Aqeelah loves the challenge of cooking for people who want to be healthier but still want great tasting food. She believes that it is the driving force for her unique food creations.
Hailing from Detroit, now living in Chicago, Chef Aqeelah credits her culinary range to her greatest teachers: Her maternal Grandmother from Alabama & her paternal Grandmother from Jamaica.
She began her culinary career as a personal chef and continues to hone her skills as the Head Chef and Owner of Soul Jamaican Catering. She specializes in providing clients with weekly meals and unique catering events that showcase her unique spin on traditional food.
